High Weirdness By Mail"High Weirdness By Mail"
by Rev. Ivan Stang
Fireside, 1988
Back when stamps where $.22, and before the heyday of 'zines and the kook-fest we call the internet, the only way you could get the opinions and rants of fringe groups, cool weirdo and the like was to send away for their stuff. This book is the bible for that kind of weirdness. Put together by the Rev. Ivan Stang, the same man who brings you the teachings of Bob with the Church of the SubGenius, this book is filled with page after page of slack (a true SubGenius will know of whence I speak). Back in my college days, I sent away for a lot in this book. Some good, a lot bad, but never a dull trip to the mailbox. Even years after I stopped sending letters out, I would get updated material from these people. Unfortunately, after ten years, this books is horribly outdated. Most people have closed up shop and/or moved over to the internet. I would give anything for the good Rev. to update this beacon of weirdness.
