"Is
Elvis Alive?"
by Gail Brewer-Giorgio
Tudor Publishing Company,1988
When Elvis died, Gail
Brewer-Giorgio was so moved by grief that she wrote a novel. It was a piece
of fiction loosely based on Elvis' life. It was called Orion and told the
story of a rock singer who got tired of the spotlight and decided to fake
his own death to get away. It was a work of fiction, but soon Brewer-Giorgio
began to wonder if her writings somehow psychically tapped into the truth.
Her book was published and soon started to disappear. A masked country
singer by the name of Orion came onto the music scene. People started to
ask questions about Elvis' death. Why is his middle name misspelled on
his tombstone? What happened to the results of the autopsy? How was it
this Orion character sounded more than a little like Elvis? Was there a
wax dummy in place of Elvis in the coffin? And what about the most important
clue of all: the tape that comes with the book? The author had it analized
by voice experts who say without a doubt it's the King...but how can it
be since the tape was made after his death? A conspiracy fit for the King
of rock and roll.
